Kitty Xiao has recently returned to Melbourne after completing her Master of Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. There she studied with Eugene Asti and composition/arranging with Paul Bartholomew as a proud recipient of the Alfred Kitchin Scholarship.
During her time abroad Kitty composed and performed her own music for the renowned Brighton Fashion Week in London. Kitty was invited to the Royal Danish Academy of Music by Danish composer Signe Lykke to record and premiere her work. Kitty composed music for the film ‘Cervine Chronicle’ which was released in London late 2013.
Kitty’s work ‘Nimbus’ received the 2013 MSV David Henkels Composition Award and was aired on 3MBS. Kitty will be performing her own original music on 3MBS’ 2015 series ‘The Talent’. Kitty is currently teaching, performing and completing her Master of Teaching at the University of Melbourne.
